You link into a small cave. Note that the cave is collapsed and the rubble blocks the path into the depths of the cave.
Near the link-in spot, there's a letter left by Irena. Read it, before exiting into a deserted ledge carved in a rocky cliff.
On the horizon, there's a city, the same one you already partially viewed through the aquarium's skylight. In the sky is a spiralling sun, rotating very slowly. You find a device smashed by fallen rocks, a bridge over a dried creek, a dead tree, and a building that somehow resembles the bow of a ship.
Notice two vertical rails going up the side of the building, and the two solar panels folded midway up on the building's sides.
At its base there is a door, to the door's left is a panel with six buttons arranged in a circle.
Next to the panel, there is a lever with the handle hidden by a safety cover.
Below the panel is a plaque with a D'ni message.
- Why can't I translate the plaque?
In D'ni language it should read "WATER FOR DORMAH CITY". The writing is presently misspelled, and will be corrected in the final version. But you now know the name of the city on the horizon.
- I've tried pushing all the buttons, but nothing happens. How do I solve the correct order?
First, you'll need to know what the colours of the two missing buttons are.
The coloured caps for these buttons have fallen off, but they landed very near by.
- How do I know which of the missing colours applies to each of the blank buttons?
Notice that the six buttons are arranged in groups of three, within two triangles.
- What is common to the properties of the colours in each triangle?
One triangle contains primary colours: Red, Blue, Yellow; the other contains mixed, or secondary colours: Green, Orange, Violet.
- Now I know what the two missing colours on the panel are, but I still don't understand the correct order in which to push the buttons!
In all the areas you have visited so far, where have you seen a clue with multiple colours?
The third movie in the waystation's video room showed the silent Spirit with eyes flashing in different colours. The Spirit was trying to offer the viewer a gift of sorts. If necessary, revisit the waystation to note that the Spirit's eyes flashed in a certain sequence.
- How do I apply the sequence of these colours in the Spirit's eyes to the button panel at the cliffs?
The Spirit's eyes flashed singly in primary colours (yellow, red, blue) and in combinations. Combining these primary colours produces secondary colours (blue + yellow = green, red + yellow = orange, red + blue = violet).
- I still don't understand how this works. Spell out the order of the buttons for me.
Yellow (top right),
Red (top left),
Violet (bottom left),
Orange (top),
Blue (bottom),
Green (bottom right)
When you have solved the button sequence, the lever handle cover slides away.
Pull the lever and the door on the right will open.
Enter the ship bow building.
